As certain as I am uncertain of access to “the real,” I’m
always testing that periphery.

I’ve author’d the sound-imaging poem Vaast Bin (Calamari Press) and other
assorted language art and sound works. I cut my teeth in the rock group PoemRocket. These exploits were documented on labels such as Atavistic—the Chicago
avant jazz and rock label—and other renowned underground labels. I continue to
explore sound-imaging in solo performances, installations, and improvisational
collaborations with the likes of Al Margolis, Area C, Jack Wright, and the Be
Blank Consort. Visual-poetic manifestations are in avant-garde libraries and
special collections like the Sackner Archive and appear in galleries, journals,
and anthologies—The Last Vispo Anthology:1998 – 2008 is the latest. BrightPink Mosquito, unarmed, SleepingFish, Word for/Word, BathHouseHypermedia Journal, Sous Rature,
and Hyperrhiz: New Media Cultures
are a few of the journals publishing variants of my writing. Right now, I’m
working a book on sound environment programming. http://www.michael-peters.com/
